After the glass is cut the edges can be sharp. This is not only nasty for dainty fingers(!), but will not let the foil and solder make a good bind.
A grinder is used, which is essentially a drill in a purple box. There is a diamond bit to do the grinding. Now a neat thing is water is mixed so there is no glass dust or splinters flying all over the place.
Now that enough of the window has been cut, smoothed and foiled the pieces can be soldered together.

After the glass is cut and smoothed foil is applied around the edge of the glass. This will provide the bond to hold all the glass together.

First, the tools are prepared!
From the design template one piece is cut out.
The paper is then placed on the glass and the outline drawn out in black ink.
The glass is then scarred around the outline.
Then with the clippers the glass is shaped.
One down, about 700 pieces to go!!
