Adding the metal rods
The metal rods provide extra support to the window. This will allow the window to stand upright.
The rods are cut to size and foiled, not along the entire length, just every 4-5 inches or so. You can just see the rings of foil on the rod. Yes, you can, look closely.
The remaining copper foil along the length of the window is soldered and so is the copper foil around the metal rod.
Flip the window (no cheeky competitions this week!) and repeat on the other side.
When the artist does a snazzy signature (graffiti IMHO) there's a hint the artist is bored because the window is finished.
One blogger viewer emailed in and suggested that "She could sweep the floor of all the broken glass bits". Oh my! That is a good idea.
Next ... finished window pictures
Next week ... video of Vicki inspecting the window and asking "Are you sure that won't break??????"

"Spot the difference" result
Here we are : the results for the "spot the difference" competition.
Lets remind ourselves of the prizes:
1st prize
- Room and board for 2 for 3 night at the Blue Iguana Bar and Swim Resort
- Free transport to the car rental place
- Tour of Grapevine
- Free plywood packaging to transport the window to any destination of your choice. Savannah preferred.
The 2 differences are
1) There is indeed a piece of plywood under the window.
Out of 21,398 entries everybody saw that!
2) The window has been turned upside down!
Yes, to solder the other side we placed the window on the plywood, encased it with the 2nd piece of plywood and flipped it round. We really should have caught that on video.
Unfortunately none of the 21,398 entries saw that difference so nobody wins the top prize.
Oh dear!

Spot The Difference!
The window is finished in so far as all pieces have been cut, ground and foiled.
So as a little quiz what are the TWO main difference between this picture ...
... and this picture ?
Clues: Ignore all the extra stuff on the work table, the angle (gee Elly what were you thinking?), the car in the background etc etc
The pictures are not that clear or detailed so it's really not that hard ... just subtle.
Prize: A pat on the back for being a clever clog.
